Defining the Target Profile of a Madrasah Graduate
Report of the Retreat held in New York, March 1997. In order to arrive at the desired destination, it is critical to define that destination and then work towards developing the roadmap to get there. Curriculum Development Process (CDP):
First Steps in the Implementation of "The Target Profile of a Madrasah Graduate

Report of the Retreat held in Minneapolis, May 1998. One of the key components towards realization of a "Target Profile of a Madrasah Graduate" is an integrated curriculum. This publication lays out logical and cohesive frameworks for Akhlaq and Tarikh and identifies key themes and sub-themes to be covered. It also identifies available resources for the development of course materials

Madrasah Drive for Excellence (M-DEP)

Towards The Qur'anic Worldview:
Report of the Los Angeles 2002 Retreat held in August, 2002.  The ultimate source and authority of all knowledge, the Qur'an, provides a natural basis for integrating the Core Courses taught in a madrasah. Linkage is most effective and rewarding if the concepts and ideas are developed are strongly tied to the Qur'an - The Qur'anic worldview - out of which logically flow the Core Courses. The report identifies and logically structures Overarching Themes that transcend or cut across all Core Courses. It also, via segway themes, paves the way for Foundational Themes that form the basis upon which individual Core Courses are built.

Resource Papers
Occasional papers on themes identified in the CDP are designed to fill the void in available resources, and present material in a contemporary format to appeal to modern-day students. To date, eight papers have been published:

Qur'an Series
Akhlaq Series
Tarikh Series
There is a continuous effort to publish more resource papers as more of the learned amongst the community members come forward to undertake this important task.

Tripartite Exchange Newsletter
A tri-annual publication initiated in January 1999 that deals with teaching philosophies, methodologies and practical classroom management issues. A feature article is included in each issue to serve as a parent-teacher communication tool. Ten issues have been published to date; eleventh issue is in press.

Madrasah Model By-Laws
The by-laws provide a structure for institutionalizing a madrasah by defining responsibilities and providing accountability amongst stakeholders. A supplementary Question and Answer document addresses frequently asked questions on the by-laws
Included in the report on Madrasah Drive for Excellence Program (M-DEP)

Islamic Jeopardy Classroom Game
In keeping with goal of brining innovative methods to stimulate the learning of students in the madarsah and increase their retention, IEB-Nasimco will be piloting Islamic Jeopardy game at the Allentown 2004 Retreat. The hardware is readily available to simulate the real Jeopardy game as seen on television. Allentown, Los Angeles and Dar-es-salaam madaris have acquired the hardware for the pilot. It is envisioned that this will create a pool of questions that would ideally be shared amongst different madaris, thereby rendering this effort more effective. The game hardware can be purchased from Educators Outlet through their website, www.educatorsoutlet.com. Model 12904 was found to be most suitable and the cost is less than US$ 400.
